The First Nations Bank of Canada says in a news release that it will be taking concrete steps to support Indigenous and Canadian businesses by prioritizing domestic procurement. This is in response to the sweeping tariffs on Canadian goods by the United States.
President & CEO, Bill Lomax, says FNBC will ‘Buy Indigenous and buy Canadian’ wherever possible, ensuring its purchasing power strengthens businesses in Canada, strengthening local economies on this side of the Medicine Line, or what is now known as the Canada-U.S. border.
FNBC’s corporate headquarters is in Saskatoon. It’s a Canadian chartered bank focused on serving Indigenous and non-Indigenous customers.
