A spokesperson for the Saskatchewan RCMP says they can’t give an estimate yet as to when the investigation into the Humboldt Broncos bus collision will be complete.
Supt. Derek Williams, Officer in Charge of Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes, says everyone is anxious to learn the results to help to understand what led to this terrible tragedy and they are committed to sharing the outcome of the investigation.
The Collision Reconstruction Team and Major Crimes Unit are still pouring over the data and evidence gathered.
Williams says an important component is the collision reconstruction analysis.
Once that’s done, there will be a peer review to validate the findings, which is a standard practice for complex investigations.
There will be also be Crown consultation at the conclusion of the investigation.
Investigators remain in close contact with victims’ families.
