It wasn’t exactly an, “anything you can do, I can do better” thing, but it was close as the Saskatoon Blades rallied for their first win in three starts on their B-C road trip Tuesday night, out-lasting the Cougars 5-4 in Prince George.

Brandon Lisowsky’s (pictured) second goal of the game at, precisely, the two-minute mark of overtime, gave the Bridge City Bunch a badly-needed win after going 0-1-1 to start the Western swing. One of the losses was Sunday’s 5-4 shootout setback in Victoria when the Royals came back from a 4-1 deficit with 11 minutes to play in the third period. On Tuesday, it looked like the Blue and Gold were going to be oh-2-and-1 on the B-C adventure as P-G built leads of 3-1 and 4-2. However, Lisowsky and Lukas Hansen scored 19 seconds apart just after the Cougars went ahead 4-2, forcing O-T and setting up the 20-year-old veteran Lisowsky’s extra time heroics for a second time this season. Ben Riche and Tyler Parr also tallied for the Blades, now 11-3-1 overall for the season. Prince George, now 9-4-5 for the season, out-shot Saskatoon 35-34, but lost a third straight head-to-head match-up with the Bridge City Bunch. The Blue and Gold continue the B-C road trip Friday in Kelowna and wind it up Saturday in Kamloops.
