Police are warning the public of a STARS Lottery phone scam after receiving several reports from Saskatoon residents.

Police say the caller is alleging that the person receiving the call has won a new vehicle. The caller will then tell the potential victim to pay the caller with a gift card to have the new vehicle towed to their location.

Residents are told to block the number and ignore any text with a similar message. Also, do not click on any links or make payments to this caller or website if provided.

Stars Lottery has confirmed that they will never require payments of any kind.
