A well known Saskatoon man has announced he is running in the civic election. Scott Ford, known for his work with several Saskatoon entities including SaskTel Centre, has thrown his hat in the ring to run as a city councillor in Ward 8.
As of end of business Thursday in terms of who filed nomination papers with the city there are three candidates running in Ward 1 including incumbent Darren Hill. There are four in Ward 2, two in Ward 3. In Ward 4 there are three candidates including incumbent Troy Davies. In Wards 5, 9 and 10 there is only one candidate running so far and all are incumbents that being Randy Donauer, Bev Dubois and Zach Jeffries respectively. In Ward 6 there are five candidates and in Ward 8 there are seven.
For Mayor five people have said they are running including Don Atchison, Mike Harder and Cary Tarasoff while Cynthia Block and Gord Wyant have not filed nomination papers as yet. Nomination papers can be filed no later than 4 p.m. on October 9th.
