Shellbrook RCMP say last Sunday afternoon at 1:40, they received word of an airplane that made an emergency landing on Highway #240 approximately 24 kilometers north of Shellbrook. The Piper Cherokee 6 initially landed safely before clipping a road sign with one wing. The damaged aircraft came to rest in an adjacent field.
The lone occupant of the plane, a 41-year-old man from Clavet, did not report any injuries.
No charges have been laid and the investigation is ongoing by Shellbrook RCMP and Transport Canada.
