Of the 45 Canadian students TD selected to receive one of their 2024 scholarships, three are currently getting an education in Saskatoon.
TD offers Community Leadership Scholarships to students who exhibit a commitment to community, and Indigenous Peoples scholarships are provided to students in Indigenous communities who could benefit from financial support. The students will receive up to $70,000 each for tuition and living expenses.
This year’s winners include Lucy Sobbe from Bishop James Mahoney High School, an activist for road safety; Kate Young, a Cree woman attending the First Nations University of Canada and advocate for social justice; and Valeria Bozark, a bi-racial mother pursuing Indigenous social work at the University of Saskatchewan.
