A certain Millennial I know was telling me he envied my baby boom generation because things were so much simpler when I was young. There are too many choices today. I asked for an example and he said potato chips. Ok, I thought about it and he has a point. I don’t eat them often but when I do I like potato chips that taste like, well, potato chips. Once in a blue moon maybe sea salt & malt vinegar for a change-up but that’s about it. The variety available on the market today is mind blowing. To name a bunch: all dressed, barbecue, barbecue & potato, fully loaded baked potato, sweet & spicy barbecue, dill pickle, ketchup, sour cream & onion, cheddar & sour cream, French onion, aged cheddar & black pepper, jalapeno, salt & fresh ground pepper, ranch, chipotle ranch, bacon & cheddar, bacon mac & cheese, lime, honey mustard, rotisserie chicken (no kidding, it’s made by Lays as is chicken & waffles), creamy garlic Caesar, cinnamon bun, mint mischief, sweet onion…..now there’s a flavour I just might like so I’ll have to look and see where those can be found.
That’s Coffeetalk. I’m Vic Dubois.
