Narly 11,000 smaller black carts have already been substituted for the previous larger black cart option in Saskatoon. The City says the first round of cart swaps is ahead of schedule with the initial swaps complete in 40 neighbourhoods. For households which requested a smaller cart, but haven’t received it, review the online calendar, because the schedule has changed considerably.
If you missed the first cart swap, the City’s contracted vendor will be returning prior to June 15th to attempt a second swap. Make sure to roll out your existing cart on each collection day before 7 a.m. and until 6 p.m., until the cart swap window closes on June 15th. The City says the smaller carts won’t be delivered unless your existing cart is retrieved. Requests for a second round of cart swaps will begin July 8th for those considering a smaller cart.
