In an effort to prevent human-caused fires in northern Saskatchewan this year, the Prince Albert Grand Council and the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency have developed a new educational campaign.
The initiative entails series of educational materials, including radio segments accessible in both English and the local languages, as well as social media and education provided to schools.
Grand Chief Brian Hardlotte of the Prince Albert Grand Council says “Human-caused fires devastate communities, landscapes, and wildlife…This campaign is about transforming awareness into action.”
The two-month campaign is scheduled to run between May and June.
