The RM of Vanscoy is updating their fire advisory to a full fire ban, which is set to take effect at midnight tonight.

Reeve of Vanscoy Leonard Junop says the move is precatutionary, as the area hasn’t had any incidents yet.

He adds that the weekend is coming up, a prime time for recreational fires, and the ground is quite dry, making for a poor combination.

The ban will remain until further notice.
