A 36-year-old Saskatoon man has been arrested and faces charges for evading police and dangerous driving.

At 4:00 a.m. Monday morning, officers attempted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle near 17th Street West and Avenue J South. The vehicle came to a stop but fled moments later.

Officers in the air continued to monitor the vehicle’s movements. The Air Support Unit tracked the vehicle to the area of Circle Drive and Preston Avenue South where ground officers stopped it with a tire deflation device. The vehicle continued into an alley in the 2600 Block of Eastview where the suspect abandoned the vehicle and hid behind a house.

Members of the ASU directed ground officers to the suspect’s location, and he was arrested without further incident.
