World Water Day, observed on March 22nd, is a time to discuss water security, scarcity, and accessibility, and that’s exactly what a panel of speakers will be talking about today at the University of Saskatchewan.
Dr. Corrinne Schuster-Wallace, executive director of Global Institute for Water Security and associate USask professor, says this year’s World Water Day theme is ‘Water for Peace’, addressing the challenges that many countries face when it comes to water access, and brainstorming ways that Canada can collaborate with them to aid their situation.
Representatives from universities, environmental groups, non-profits, and government bodies will be gathering for today’s seminar, with Dr. Melissa McCracken from Tufts University present as the keynote speaker.
Along with discussing the state of other countries, the group will also touch on the potential drought that could impact Western Canda due to limited snowpack.
