The Saskatoon Fire Department says the cause and origin of an early Tuesday house fire in the 200 block of Avenue K North has not been determined. Safety concerns prevented the fire investigator from performing a scene investigation. The initial report indicated there was a fire in the basement which extended through the structure and to the roof.

Damage is estimated at $200,000. Utilities are being safely removed with the structure being torn down by an excavation company. Fencing will also be erected around the property to keep people out.
