The Saskatchewan Protective Services Medal was awarded to the latest group of recipients at a ceremony in Saskatoon.
Lieutenant Governor Russ Mirasty presented the awards to several Saskatchewan residents with 25 years or more of exemplary service in the protective services field.
Recipients include members of police, fire, federal and provincial corrections, border services, the RCMP, the Canadian Armed Forces, family violence outreach services and mobile crisis organizations.
Throughout the year, the medal will be presented to 178 people from both rural and urban communities around the province. Two more ceremonies will be held in Regina on October 18th.
