A family near Rosetown is operating an agri-tourism business out of their farmyard, and the accommodations could involve sleeping in a repurposed grain bin.

Alive Sky Lodge, ran by Darryl and April Anderson, began as just a four-bedroom lodge building, but is now something much more. Visitors can choose to stay in either the main 4-bedroom lodge, the single level BINcredible, the two-storey BOHO BIN, the new Cowboy Bunkhouse, or Schoolee on the Coulee, a renovated, livable school bus.

Anderson says the bins, although they are furnished in very different styles, both have air conditioning, WiFi, cable, and showers. Also, they each feature their own private decks, hot tubs, and firepits.

She adds that their rooms are available all year round, but in the summer months, visitors have the opportunity to join the Anderson’s on their farm machinery. Winter availability is useful for people in the farming community, who are too busy to get away in the summer.

April says Alive Sky Lodge is the place to be for anyone looking to unplug, enjoy some quiet time, and have a lowkey vacation.
