The Saskatoon Fire Department responded to a fire at the Loraas Recycle facility in the 1900 Block of 1st Avenue North on Friday.
At 12:38 p.m., the SFD received the call, and upon arrival, crew members reported the fire was burning only a pile of recyclable material outside the structure and not threating to spread.
The fire was easily extinguished after fire crews, with the help of the staff on site, spread the pile out in the parking lot. A SFD Fire Investigator was requested to attend. The fire was brought under control just 30 minutes later. There was no damage done to equipment or the structure, and no staff or firefighters were injured.
