The Saskatoon Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 100 Block of 27th Street West Saturday afternoon.
At 3:06 p.m. on August 19, firefighters were dispatched to the home, and they reported flames at the rear of a single-story residence and arcing power lines down in the back alley.
Fire crews extinguished the fire at the back of the house and breached the front door to search it for any people in case it was not vacant.
One dog was found safe inside. The fire was brought under control just 11 minutes after the SFD was called. The Fire Investigator assumed the scene and investigation is ongoing to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
