Amana Packaged Terminal Air Conditioners and heat pumps that are equipped with ‘DigiAir’ modules are being recalled.
The units are being recalled because the module compressor is overheating, becoming a possible fire or burn hazard.
Over 50 reports of issues with these modules have come out of the United States, 10 resulting in fires. However, there has not been any reports in Canada so far.
All units with serial numbers that begin with PMH or PMC are impacted.
People with these air conditioners and heat pumps are instructed to immediately stop using it and contact Daikin Comfort Technologies Manufacturing to arrange a free repair of the unit.
