Among 29 calls for service to the saskatoon Police Service over the weekend, there were several that were weapons related.
Shortly before noon on Saturday, police responded to a gas station in the 1600 block of 33rd Street West after a man was reported to have been seen leaving the business with a firearm.
Upon arrival, police located the man and discovered he was carrying an imitation handgun. He was charged with Possession of a Dangerous Weapon and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
In a second incident, at 4:00 p.m. on the same day, a man was assaulted when a woman used a metal object to strike him in the 800 block of Confederation Drive.
Police say the weapon was later determined to have been a part of an air rifle. Police found the woman nearby and charged her with Uttering Threats to Cause Death, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, and Assault with a Weapon.
These are just two of many incidents occurring over the weekend. In total, 22 weapons were seized, 11 people were arrested, and 23 charges were laid.
