Fifty million dollars’ worth of improvements have been completed on Highway 16.

The project focused on creating 26 passing lanes and several intersection upgrades from Clavet, east of Saskatoon, to the Saskatchewan/Manitoba border.

Highway’s Minister Jermy Cockrill says due to the expanding number of canola crushing facilities in that area, there are many more large trucks moving through. He says these lanes allow for drivers to pass these slower moving vehicles safely and efficiently.

These improvements are part of the Government of Saskatchewan’s plan to build and upgrade 10,000 km of provincial highways over the next ten years.
