All members of the public are invited to take part in the 8th annual Festival of India, happening at 4:00pm Sunday.

Event Organizer Amee Joshi says the celebration will begin with a parade down Pinehouse Drive and will continue until 7:00pm in Meewasin Park. Festivities will include several storytelling dances taking place on a mainstage, a kids activity tent, henna tattoos, Indian arts and crafts, cultural foods, and a performance by a magician.

Joshi says the celebration is held to bring some Indian culture to Saskatoon. Ancient traditions and ceremonies are passed down to Indian youth during the festival, to ensure that those practices are never lost.

Everyone is invited, and there is no charge to attend.
