Moose Jaw Police have arrested a man after he broke into a home and attacked another man with a knife.

Early yesterday morning, police received a report of a man in a mask breaking into a home and assaulting a resident with a knife. Although he was wearing a mask, the attacker was known to the victim. After lunging at the victim with a knife and inflicting minor injuries, the victim was able to fend him off with a shovel and the man fled the scene prior to police arriving.

Officers say they located him a few hours later and were able to arrest him. He was remanded into custody on several charges and will appear in court on Monday.

The victim did not need medical care, and police continue to investigate the offence.
