Two Canadians were arrested on their way home from Syria Thursday.
The RCMP Federal Policing Integrated National Security Enforcement Team arrested 33-year-old Helena Carson and 42-year-old Dina Kalouti by way of a Terrorism Peace Bond upon their arrival at the Montreal-Trudeau International Airport. The two were transported to Alberta and appeared in Provincial Court for a bail hearing in relation to the bond applications. They were released from custody and are subject to a number of bail conditions pending the hearing of this application. The RCMP criminal investigation remains ongoing, and there will be no further comment on this matter at this time.
