It was a busy long weekend for Parkland Ambulance Paramedics, as they responded to 180 incidents as of 8:00am Monday morning.
Two of the incidents include one where a 16-year-old girl who fell off of an ATV and was not wearing a helmet. She was taken to hospital in stable condition. Another accident involved a 14-year-old boy who was injured while riding a dirt bike in the Lakeland area. Although he was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident, he was treated by paramedics and taken to the local hospital in stable condition.
In a news release, Parkland Ambulance Care reminds the public to be responsible riders by obeying posted signs and staying on the trails, keeping your ATV in good repair, and wearing a helmet and long pants.
