Two people from Regina were arrested early yesterday morning after taking part in two armed robberies.

On Thursday at 8:30pm, Regina police were dispatched to the intersection of N McIntosh Street and Donnelly Crescent in response to a weapons offence report.

Trough investigation, officers determined that two suspects in a car approached the victim while he was riding a motorbike. The suspects struck the motorbike with the car, causing it to stall. The victim was held at gunpoint while the two men attempted to start the bike. Police say the attempt to steal the bike failed, the suspects threatened the victim, and then drove away.

Shortly after, police received a call about a truck set on fire north of Regina. They say a man was driving his truck when the same car pulled up and made him stop. The driver was held at gun point, and the men demanded his belongings and threatened to kill him. After stealing the mans things, the suspects threw an ignited object into the truck and drove off. The victim was not injured.

Through investigation assisted by the Ariel Support Unit, the vehicle was located, and its two occupants were taken into custody. Twenty-six -year-old Waylon Vernon Keepness of Fort Qu’Appelle is facing 10 charges, and a 16-year-old unnamed boy is facing 6 charges. They made their first court appearances today.
