A Deschambault Lake man has been arrested and is facing several charges, including attempted murder.
At 2:00pm on Saturday, Deschambault Lake RCMP received a report that there was an injured individual receiving care at the local clinic. After investigating, police say it was determined that the woman was assaulted by a man, and then transported to the clinic by a fellow citizen. The woman’s injuries and described as serious. The suspect, 33-year-old Jonah Ballentyne was arrested. He is facing three charges, including attempted murder, aggravated assault, and failure to comply with undertaking.
He appeared in La Ronge Provincial Court via phone on June 19th. Monday.
