There are currently 28 wildfires in the province as of 4:00am Saturday morning. The number of fires not contained is at six, sixteen are under ongoing assessment, two where the focus is to protect property, and four fires are contained.
However, the air quality statements for the areas west from Kindersley to Macklin and west from The Battlefords to St. Walburg have been removed. The statements for Cree Lake, Key Lake, Buffalow Narrows, Ile a la Crosse, and Beauval are still in place. There have been 209 fires so far this year to date, and the five-year average is 141.
