The Town of Dalmeny has been making several infrastructure improvements recently, one being Saskatchewan’s first recirculating spray park.
Council Member for the town of Dalmeny Lacy Boisvert says the water used at the park is caught in a large bladder, treated, and pumped back into the spray park. It reuses about 464 litres per minute. Because the water sits inside a bladder while it’s being treated, it is warmer and more enjoyable for those who use it.
She adds that there have been other improvements across the town, including a wet-well expansion. It now is able to sustain a population of 5,500 people. The town has also built a town shop and a fire storage area. Right now, according to the census, the population is 1,766, however, they are currently under appeal for that if they feel that the population has reached just under 2000.
Dalmeny is celebrating the spray park’s grand opening at 12:30 on Saturday as part of their summer fair. It is open to the public and includes entertainment, activities, a concession stand, and bouncy castles.
