In the early morning hours of May 16, 2023, Meadow Lake RCMP received a report of a shooting on Flying Dust First Nation.

Upon arrival, they located an injured male, who was taken to hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigation has determined two males approached the residence. An altercation occurred and a firearm was discharged, injuring the victim. The males then fled from the residence. The victim was taken to hospital after police arrival. He was last reported to be in stable condition.

As a result of the investigation, Meadow Lake RCMP has now charged two individuals in connection with this incident. The two individuals are under the age of 18 and cannot be named as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act. They have each been charged with one count, attempt murder as well as numerous other offences. They are both wanted on warrant.
