Numerous wildfires burning across Alberta have resulted in the province entering a state of emergency. As of Saturday, there were 392 wildfires burning in Alberta, and 36 of them are out of control.
Hot and dry conditions, as well as intense smoke covering the majority of the northwestern side of the province have forced over 34 communities to send emergency alerts, while some initiated evacuation orders. Smoke is causing poor air quality and reduced visibility in many areas of the province, and residents are encouraged to find an area in their community with clean cool air to prevent harsh effects.
