A CEO has been hired for the Saskatchewan Healthcare Recruitment Agency, which was established last year as an independent Treasury Board Crown Corporation. Erin Brady’s first day on the job is May 23rd. A news release from the Health Ministry says Brady has extensive experience working in the health sector, including Saskatchewan Health Quality Council and saskdocs.
The SHRA is responsible for recruiting doctors, nurses and other priority health care professionals. The government news release says recent successes related to the Health Human Resources Action Plan include the recruitment of 69 family doctors and 102 specialists from outside the province, for a total of 171 physicians in the last 19 months. As well, 186 graduate nurses have been hired since last December and 129 conditional letters of offer have been extended to nurses who are graduating this spring.
