It has obviously been much talked about, but the behavior displayed in the video where two parking lot attendants being verbally abused and physically set upon by a patron at the Saskatoon Blades game is reprehensible. Unless the situation had become much more violent, I actually don’t believe anyone else should have gotten involved. I’m sure there were a number of people actually there who wanted to step in but if you talk to those who have spent time around individuals unstable enough, for whatever reason, to make that kind of public display of aggression, you are encouraged to de-escalate, not amplify the situation. I am glad he was videotaped. This is a small town in almost every respect and his identity will be known and shared and shame on him. But I would suggest instead of videotaping perhaps take note of his license plate, the make and model of the vehicle and call RID. There may be a reason he is behaving in such an erratic fashion that could be dealt with in an immediate time frame by the police. Who knows? But hats off to the parking lot attendants, not security guards, who are likely only making minimum wage to take that kind of abuse, because they could have gotten fed up and reacted much differently. So, kudos to them for their composure. And probably a lesson for everyone, not responding in kind doesn’t mean you are without the ability to do so. It just means you are a better human being with more common sense.
