The Saskatoon Fire department wrapped up a very busy few days with a fire in the 300 block of Witney Avenue South on Sunday night.
The call came in at 8:10 p.m. of a structure fire and when crews arrived there was nothing showing on the exterior of the building but once inside fire fighters found fire damage with possible fire in the attic.
Crews accessed the attic space and identified hot spots. Utilities were shut down for safety.
The Fire Investigator has concluded the fire is suspicious. It originated in the living room causing $75,000 in damage. The remainder of the investigation has been turned over to the Saskatoon Police Service.

Meanwhile, there was a fire called in about 12 hours earlier from the Kelsey Woodlawn neighbourhood and that multi-unit structure in the 1600 block of 1st Avenue North had to be levelled with an excavator. All occupants have been rehoused.
The occupants of an apartment building Sutherland were also rehoused after a fire on Central Avenue late Friday night and Thursday night two people were taken to hospital as a precaution after a fire in the Rayner Village mobile home community in Sutherland. Otherwise, no one was injured in the various fires through the weekend.
