The province wants in on the federal government’s Low Carbon Economy Fund. It has submitted 11 projects despite being told by the feds that it is ineligible for a portion of the funding. Environment Minister Dustin Duncan says the projects seek more than $200 million in funding. He says the projects will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by about 188 million tonnes from energy and power production, water, forests, and agriculture. Duncan says, “Saskatchewan’s climate change strategy will reduce greenhouse gas emissions without a carbon tax.”
