Saskatoon Police have released a few more details adding to what the City of Saskatoon released early this afternoon about the collision between a Transit bus and a pedestrian. Officers responded around 10:45 this morning (Tues) to the accident near College Drive and Cumberland Avenue North, which is near the University of Saskatchewan campus. Police say a 30 year old man was transported to hospital with serious injuries, not believed to be life threatening.
Westbound lanes of College Drive were restricted to one lane while Collision Analysts investigated, but those restrictions were lifted late afternoon. The City of stated in a news release that Saskatoon Transit is cooperating with the police investigation and the bus driver hasn’t been charged. Saskatoon Transit will conduct its own internal investigation, which is protocol when any city bus is involved in an accident.
Counselling services have been offered to the bus driver and any member of the Transit team affected by this accident.
