SaskTel is rescinding its decision to have a monthly fee for the previously free sasktel.net emails. Minister responsible for SaskTel, Don Morgan, says in a statement that he has spoken with residents and heard their concerns, and as a result, has instructed SaskTel to keep the email addresses free of charge. About 88,000 people use sasktel.net email addresses.

The Crown Corporation had announced earlier that the email addresses would no longer be free and emails were being sent out to customers letting them know of the $1.95 charge which was to begin in the spring. That will no longer be the case.
