Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is investigating a sudden death reported to Meadow Lake RCMP on Tuesday.
Around 9 p.m. on December 27, officers were called to a report of a deceased male at a continuing care home in Meadow Lake.
The police investigation so far has determined an altercation occurred between two residents at the home. Staff located one of the residents, a 78-year-old man, who was injured. While staff assisted, the man went into medical distress and was pronounced deceased by EMS. His family has been notified.
Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes continues to investigate the circumstances around the sudden death. An autopsy will be scheduled for the 78-year-old man in the coming days.
