The Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre wants you to “Light it Up” this holiday season.

That’s the theme of the Food Bank’s annual holiday campaign, encouraging the community to enjoy the holiday season, while also raising funds and food through gatherings with family and friends.

Executive Director, Laurie O’Connor, also encourages businesses to come up with some friendly office competitions to do the same. Businesses and organizations that participate will receive an interactive donation kit for their office, so they can keep track of the donations made by the group.

She hopes this campaign will remind the community to “Light it Up” and have a little fun this season, sharing some positivity and encourage the community to help others as well.

The most wanted food items include baby food and formula, canned fruits and vegetables, hearty soups and stews, whole grain pasta and cereals, canned protein, and peanut butter.
