Most areas of the province are on the dry side heading into the winter months. That’s according to the Water Security Agency’s Conditions at Freeze-up Report.
A news release from the WSA says while some areas experienced higher than normal spring and early summer precipitation, the last half of the summer and early fall were dry.
Most larger water supply reservoirs across southern and central Saskatchewan have adequate supplies. The WSA doesn’t believe there are any areas with a heightened risk of above normal spring runoff next year, however there is concern of surface water supply issues in the southwest if winter snowfall is below average.
