There has been a startling spike in SARS-CoV-2 viral RNA load in Saskatoon’s wastewater. It has increased 461.8 per cent in the latest reporting period. Last week the viral load was considered low but that has changed to medium, and it is all some variation of the Omicron variant.
Prince Albert’s viral RNA load increased by 83.6 per cent. In North Battleford, the RNA load continues to remain static after showing a slight decrease of 0.1 per cent. Both communities remain at a level considered medium and both are also all Omicron in terms of the variant of COVID-19 present.
Values are based on averages of three individual daily measurements compared to the weekly average of the previous week.
