The provincial government has announced a fourth flight of about 200 people from war-torn Ukraine arriving in Saskatchewan. It’s being arranged in partnership with the humanitarian organizations Solidaire and Open Arms, and this time it’s arriving in Saskatoon. Immigration and Career Training Minister Jeremy Harrison says it’s expected to arrive on November 23rd.
Back in August, the Premier joined representatives from Solidaire and Open Arms to sign a memorandum of understanding to partner on five flights into Saskatchewan by the end of March next year. The passengers have access to temporary accommodations and a suite of services, support and information related to living in Saskatchewan. After this flight, about 2,300 displaced Ukrainians will have arrived in the province since the war began, with the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian army.
