The University of Saskatchewan Huskies wrapped up the regular season with a 24-1 victory over the University of Calgary Dinos at Griffiths Stadium. Saturday’s game had Mason Nyhus leading the way in throwing for 350 yards and three touchdowns.
Nyhus entered the day needing 120 yards to overtake the program’s all-time single season passing yards record and he did just that on an 85-yard touchdown pass to Rhett Vavra in the second quarter.
In other action the University of Regina Rams lost 44-30 to Manitoba at Mosaic Stadium so now the playoff matchups are set in Canada West football and both semifinals will be played in Saskatchewan.
The first-place University of Saskatchewan Huskies will face the fourth-place University of Manitoba Bisons at Griffiths Stadium in Saskatoon. The second-place University of Regina Rams will host the third-place UBC Thunderbirds at Regina’s Mosaic Stadium.
