The City of Saskatoon says one of its Transit buses was involved in a fatal collision with a pedestrian on Wednesday evening.
The accident happened near the intersection of Pendygrasse Road and Clancy Drive.
Saskatoon Police officers were called to the scene around 9:00 p.m. and medical personnel pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene.
At the time the news releases were issued last night, which was after 10 o’clock, the police were still trying to identify the pedestrian. No one else was injured.
The City of Saskatoon says Saskatoon Transit is cooperating fully with the police investigation and to avoid speculation, as well as protect the integrity of the investigation, city officials will not speak to any details around the accident until the investigation is complete.
When a Transit bus is involved in any traffic accident there is an internal investigation conducted by Saskatoon Transit.
