A woman originally charged with ‘aggravated assault and and administering a noxious thing’ to a child has been sentenced in Regina Provincial Court. In May of last year, Emergency Services responded to a call about a 21 month old girl who wasn’t breathing. The Regina Police Service says there were two adults in the home and then the child’s parents arrived after the police. At the hospital, investigators were told the child had acute ethanol poisoning.
A 29 year old woman, not the child’s mother, was arrested in June of 2021. Police report he toddler was poisoned with ethanol and Benadryl. Jessica Rae Fehr’s charge was changed to ‘causing bodily harm by criminal negligence’ this past spring, and she was sentenced on Wednesday to eight months in jail and two years probation.
