After an 11 month wait, the 2022 SSSAD high school football season kicked off with Evan Hardy vs ED Feehan and two other contests at SMF field Thursday evening. Evan Hardy took the first game of the night 41-6. Souls players Tavin Lorenz and Aiden O’Neil say it feels great for them to be back on the field.
Almost 1,000 students witnessed Evan Hardy take the first game after scoring four touchdowns in the first half. Souls head coach Pat Barry says he is glad to start the season off with a win.
Evan Hardy heads into the weekend with a 1-0 record and ED Feehan falls to 0-1. Evan Hardy plays Marion Graham next Friday and ED Feehan looks to rebound against Mount Royal. Also in SSSAD football action, The Bishop James Mahoney Saints won the second game against the North Battleford Vikings 18-7 and the St Joseph Guardians defeated the Centennial Chargers 44-0 to take the last game of the night.
Homecoming week continues with 4 games on Friday including Bedford Road vs Mount Royal at 12:45pm, Marion Graham vs Aden Bowman at 3pm, Bethlehem vs Tommy Douglas at 5:15pm and Walter Murray vs Holy Cross at 7:30pm.
