A portion of Victoria Park will be fenced off through Friday while a piece of artwork is installed as one of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action.
“The Coming Spring” is a 27-foot tall arch with two spires pointing north and south, symbolically representing the long histories of the First nations and the Metis Nation.
Each spire has chimes that will move in the wind.
The work was commissioned by the Saskatoon Tribal Council and the City, with funding from the federal government.
While the installation is happening, Victoria Park near Spadina Crescent West, between Avenues D and E South will be fenced off.
The unveiling ceremony is June 20th.
