Researchers at the University of Saskatchewan say in Saskatoon and Prince Albert the amount of COVID 19 viral RNA in wastewater is the fourth highest ever recorded since the beginning of measurements and for North Battleford it is the fifth highest.
SARS-CoV-2 viral RNA load in Saskatoon’s wastewater has increased by 39.9 per cent. In Prince Albert’s COVID-19 in the wastewater has increased by 74.1 per cent. In North Battleford it is up 96.6 per cent.
The data is derived from averages of three individual daily measurements compared to the weekly average of the previous week.
In all three cities the COVID-19 virus being identified is all variants of Omicron.
