Saskatoon Police say a bear spray incident has become a homicide investigation.
Members of the Major Crime, Serious Assault and Forensic Identification Sections are investigating after officers responded to a fight that occurred in the 400 block of Avenue Q South involving bear spray.
The call came in at 2:09 a.m. Sunday morning of someone being bear sprayed but when officers arrived they found a badly injured 39 year old man. He was taken by Medavie Health Services to Royal University Hospital where he died.
A 25 year old man has been charged with manslaughter and will see a Justice of the Peace Sunday evening.
