The federal government has announced for new passport pick-up locations across the country, as Service Canada tries to improve service delivery and decrease wait times. Minister of Families, Children and Social Development, Karina Gould, announced the locations this morning (Wed), however none are in Saskatchewan.
A triage system was introduced this summer in 17 of Service Canada’s passport offices, which the federal government says has made a significant impact in reducing lineups and directing people to the appropriate means to access service. The average wait time at call centres has improved from a peak of 108 minutes in April to 27 minutes last week.
Four new passport pick-up locations:
Trois-Rivières, Québec
Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario
Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island
Red Deer, Alberta
